The Stone Pony
I know the fire at the Stone Pony is everywhere all over the news, but if I recall, didn't Anthony mention playing there with his band, Rotgut? I might be nuts, and I do drink a lot, so I'm not sure.

When was there a fire at THE STONE PONY? The fire on the news was in RHODE ISLAND. Great WHITE Played at the STONE PONY last week on valentine's day. ANT and RotGUT played there after the O and A road show a couple of summers ago. It was a blast, they stop the ROAD show at around 4 and rot gut played to around 630.

I got confused. The local news here kept running stories about the Stone Pony, since it's close and Great White had just played here, and then showing footage of the burning building. The Stone Pony is in lovely Asbury Park, isn't it?
I was right. I'm nuts.

a really good dj was involved in the fire and there not sure where he is last i heard, nick carter was talking about the guy, i guess he beat nick out of the job for a station down there a long time ago, that really is a horrible tragedy for everyone involved.

From todays NY Post:
The owners of three other clubs - including Domenic Santana of the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park, N.J. - said Great White had failed to tell them they planned to use pyrotechnics at recent concerts.
"My sound man freaked out because of the heat and everything, and they jeopardized the health and the safety of our patrons," Santana said.
Rhode Island officials were investigating, and local Police Chief Peter Brousseau said there "most definitely" would be charges filed.
"As we dig deeper into this, we'll find that people did things they shouldn't have done," said Gov. Carcieri, who flew home from a Florida vacation early yesterday.
"You have no business using pyrotechnics in that building," he said. "Somebody made a bad decision. People clearly couldn't have survived long in that building."
The capacity of the club was 300, but there were probably more there Thursday night.
Most of the dead were found near the front door - some burned, others trampled in the panicked rush to get out.
Many who couldn't make it to an exit jumped through windows.
Among the missing was Great White guitarist Ty Longley. Heartbroken relatives scoured hospitals last night, hoping their missing loved ones were alive.

I was watching the HISTORY channel one night and they showed ASBURY PARK in the 40's. From the turn of the early 1900's till around the 60's AP was a happen place. With casino's and hotels and the broadwalk. That was the place to go back then. Now all the buildings are all abandond(sp?) and the beach has been shut down.
When my friends and I went to the O and A road show there. There was this black family who were shocked to see 4 WHITE people in their neighborhood. They kept watch on my car till I left, which was nice of them.
The whole family was on their stoop just watching my car. And no nothing was stolen.
